Alan Rogers Review

The grounds of this municipal campsite is well kept, with open and shady areas and is more suitable for those wanting a peaceful stay, and to stroll or cycle through the fields and woods which surround Benon. There are 70 pitches on neat grass, 40 with 10A electricity, although many are sloping or uneven. This is a pretty, quiet site where visitors are made welcome. Benon was once the capital of this area with strong English connections, its castle being built in 1096, but just a single round tower remains. The mayor and villagers are still anxious to welcome English visitors.

The toilet block looked rather tired and needing refurbishment when we last visited. Facilities for disabled visitors. Motorhome services. Tennis. Reception may only be open in the mornings.
