Alan Rogers Review
Valras is perhaps smarter and is certainly larger than nearby Vias and it has a good number of campsites. Lou Village is a well kept, family owned site with direct access to a sandy beach. A busy site with lots of facilities and quite competitive prices, it does becomes crowded in high season as this is a popular area. There are 580 pitches (380 for touring), 100 with electricity (10A). Away from the beach, there is good shade and grassy pitches, partly separated by tall trees. Nearer the beach they are smaller, sandy and separated by bushes and bamboo hedges.
English is spoken. The central ‘village’ area is a veritable hive of holiday activity, with several attractively designed pools and water slides, bars, pizzeria, restaurant and a purpose built stage for the site’s extensive entertainment programme. With straw parasols and palm trees, it is an attractive, clean area with a pleasant ambience.
Modern, reasonable, refurbished toilet blocks with facilities for disabled visitors and babies. Maintenance seemed satisfactory. Supermarket, bakery, bazaar and a boutique for gifts. Bar, restaurant. Takeaway. Swimming pools (one heated), water slides, paddling pool. Playground. Children’s club. Football field. Tennis. Minigolf. Bicycle hire. Sailing, windsurfing. Entertainment programme. Gate to beach closes at 21.00. Mini train to Valras-Plage (€ 3.50 return). WiFi.
