This is a holiday complex and there are no touring pitches here. On the Mediterranean coast close to the Catalan Pyrenees, l’Île des Pêcheurs has been designed to ‘recreate an atmosphere of an authentic village, where generous green spaces complement the private gardens and the central village square, where various services and activities are brought together’. There are two types of accommodation: the Mas are large oval huts with reed roofs which recall the traditional dwellings of the Catalan fisher-folk; the Marinas are houses with tiled roofs and colourful facades.

With its eight kilometres of beaches, nearby Port Barcarès offers a variety of water-based activities as well as plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Along the coast are many fishing villages and numerous festivals take place throughout the season. To the south lie the seaside resorts of Argelès-sur-Mer and Canet-en-Roussillon as well as historic sites such as picturesque Collioure with its Château Royal overlooking the bay. Among the sites to visit in the thriving city of Perpignan are its cathedral and the impressive Palais des Rois de Majorque; then you can enjoy a drink at a pavement café on the Place de la République.
