Alan Rogers Review
This is a medium-sized site, very much oriented towards holiday makers, and with a pool complex that would be the envy of most sites. There are just under 300 pitches, roughly half for mobile homes (which looked to be tidy and well kept), half for tourers. The pitches are of an excellent standard, generally 100 sq.m. or bigger and on flat level ground. However, most are square in shape, so very large units may have to pitch diagonally and sacrifice some sitting-out space. Pitches are on well kept grass with two-metre high privet hedges as separators, and some pitches have a tree or two for shade.
The site has many attractions, but the pool area is definitely the star. There is a large rectangular pool for the serious swimmers (this is heated and has a slide over roof when needed), a huge play pool with bridges, fountains and slides and a shallow pool for the little ones. Behind the pool is a café/bar offering takeaway or eat-in food, and a full restaurant with a very reasonably priced menu. On the terrace here much entertainment is organised in season. The site is in open countryside just 200 m. from a long sandy beach.
Two adequate toilet blocks include baby rooms and a large toilet/shower room with wheelchair access. Laundry facilities. Motorcaravan services. Small shop with basics in reception, bar with large terrace, takeaway and restaurant (all 15/6-5/9). Magnificent pool area (from 1/5). Large games room. Bicycle hire. WiFi.

From N137 (La Rochelle-Rochefort) take exit for Aytre (also La Rochelle Sud) and follow (only one option at exit) sign to Aytre on left. Turn here then in Aytre to Campings or Plages. There are three sites along this road and Les Sables is the last one.
