Alan Rogers Review
Small, but perfectly formed, Les Matherons is attractively laid out amongst a variety of trees and wild flower meadows. Surrounded by olive trees and herb gardens it is secluded, but not remote, and offers a calming experience of gentle living. It is owned and run by a Dutch couple and offers just 27 large, terraced, grassy and well separated pitches, within a natural setting of 54 hectares. Many pitches have good views and all have 3A electricity (rock pegs advised). Campers with caravans and tents are asked to keep their vehicles in a car park. Tractor assistance is available. The terrain is rugged, so this site is unsuitable for campers with mobility issues.
Peace and tranquillity represent the ethos of this site; families of all ages are welcome, but teenagers are asked to let off steam some way from the site which operates a silence rule from 22.00 to 07.00. Torches essential as the site is not lit at night.
Modern well appointed toilet block with facilities for disabled campers. Snacks. Twice weekly meals (all season). Boules. Giant chess. Sand pit. Play area. Organised walks. Activities for children (high season). Rafting organised from site. Only gas barbecues permitted.
