Alan Rogers Review
Close to the Puys, and the valley of the Sioule and surrounded by forests, Camping Les Marins is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities, especially watersports here in the Combrailles with plentiful rivers, ponds, gorges and waterfalls. There are 64 grassy touring pitches, all with electricity connections (10A), some are partly shaded, most are level and located on the edge of the lake. The pitches all enjoy privacy from high hedges, though these do restrict the view. In high season, you can enjoy kayaking, canoeing and swimming from the site.
With its rich heritage, the Auvergne is a perfect place for a family holiday. Why not visit amusement parks such as Pal and Vulcania - interesting for both young and old. If you are looking for more leisurely pastimes, you can explore the exquisite scenery on foot, bicycle, horse-drawn carriage or with a donkey! Many routes start from the site. As you journey through the villages you are certain to come across the local craftsmen (potters, spinners, blacksmiths, sculptors, glass blowers etc). If you want to get the real feel for the region, look out for the village markets, fairs, festivals and concerts that take place throughout the year.
