Recently acquired by the FranceLoc chain, this site has undergone major building works, which were still in progress when we visited in June 2013. Close to the important resorts of Royan and Saint Georges-de-Didonne, the park covers 6.5 hectares and has over 400 pitches, with just 40 for touring. All have electricity (6A); some are in a group below high trees with access across the grass, others are tucked away amongst the mobile homes and chalets, many of which are to rent. Fine sandy beaches are within easy reach.
Royan is a stylish resort with good shopping and dozens of excellent seafood restaurants, and is the starting point for numerous boat trips. Saint Georges is a more relaxed town and has an attractive port area and an impressively long sandy beach. Along the shore of the Gironde are pretty little villages and fishing ports, including Talmont, classified as one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. To the north are La Palmyre boasting France’s second largest zoo, and the Forêt de la Coubre.
