Alan Rogers Review
Located midway between Crest and Die, les Acacias is a comfortable riverside site. There are 90 pitches here with 6A electricity connections supplied to most. The pitches are of a good size and generally well shaded. They are separated by trees and hedges and some are available along the riverbank. The site slopes down to the banks of the Drôme and some up-and-down walking will probably be required. A small canoe base has been established here and canoe excursions to the Gorges de Saillans are justifiably popular. Given the proximity of the D93 and railway line, there may be some background road and rail noise.
Walking and mountain biking are popular pursuits and many trails are available in the surrounding countryside. Nearby mountains such as Archiane and Les Trois Becs are popular excursions. In high season, the site runs an entertainment and excursion programme including a club for children. The site’s bar and snack bar is housed below reception and has a small terrace.
Three toilet blocks with facilities for babies and disabled visitors. Bar and snack bar. Small shop. Play areas. Canoe hire. Fishing (permit needed). TV room. Entertainment and children’s club (from 4 yrs; high season). Excursion programme (July/Aug). Weekly campfire on the beach. Mobile homes and chalets to rent.
