Alan Rogers Review
Le Peyrolais is a quiet, well kept site with its own 400 m. long beach on the river, located at the lower reaches of the Ardèche gorges. The site is situated on two levels, the slightly higher one bordering the river. There are 100 good size pitches on stony grass in a park-like setting. Mostly level, there are 76 for touring with electricity (10A, long leads advised). There is good shade from a variety of mature trees. Saint Julien de Peyrolas is centrally located for many interesting places, including the spectacular Gorges Ardèche with its fantastic opportunities for canoeing and rafting and many other sporting opportunities.
For further sightseeing you can visit the Saint Marcel Caves, a crocodile farm and the towns of Avignon, Nîmes, Orange and Montélimar within reach and even the Camargue is not far away.
One central toilet block with washbasins both open style and in cabins, simple showers, baby changing room and facilities for campers with disabilities. Washing machines. Shop (1/6-26/9). Air conditioned bar, small restaurant and outside dining area (all season). Play area. Minigolf. Fishing. River swimming (400 m. beach). Canoes, kayaks, pedaloes (July/Aug). Boat launching ramp. Family entertainment (July/Aug). Gas and electric barbecues only. WiFi (charged).
