A 2 km. drive through woodland, along a single track road (do not despair, it will get you there!), opens up to a stunning landscape. This little gem of a campsite shaded by trees on the banks of the Aveyron, is linked by an ancient bridge to the medieval hillside village of Belcastel, classed as one of the most beautiful in France. It is a small municipal site with 30 grassy pitches, all for touring and most with 10A electricity. It has all the necessary facilities, but they are basic. With no activities or entertainment, this site will appeal to the purist and those seeking a peaceful retreat in beautiful surroundings.

The site’s convivial bar/snack bar run by a friendly couple, Jean Bernard and his Italian wife Anna, is open all season. Two restaurants can be also found in Belcastel, one of which has a Michelin star. There is no swimming pool but bathing is possible in the river. The area also offers many opportunities for hiking and biking. Belcastel is 30 km. from Villefranche de Rouerge, a Royal Bastide town famous for its lively and colourful market held every Thursday in the medieval quarter, where local producers proudly display all the specialities of the region. An experience not to be missed.
