Alan Rogers Review

Le Bord du Lac is located on the banks of the large Lac du Paladru, close to the village of Bilieu. It is a pleasant, terraced site with 76 grassy pitches, all with 6/10A electricity and some shade from mature birch trees. There is direct access to the lake where swimming is possible as well as various watersports, including sailing and windsurfing, and launching of your own boat can be arranged. There are many excellent walking and cycling opportunities in the area and the campsite managers will be pleased to recommend routes. The steep access roads may be difficult for large units.

The Parc Naturel de la Chartreuse can be easily accessed to the east of the site and extends to Grenoble in the south. This is an attractive region linking the Jura with the Alps and is possibly best known for its Carthusian monastery, Grande Chartreuse, and its world-renowned distillery. The region also contains one of France’s largest forests and offers a number of winter sports centres.
