Le Bois Joli (roughly speaking, pretty woodland, which it certainly is) is in wooded country in a most peaceful situation. Numerous trees provide good shade to all the pitches, although the natural layout of the site may not suit those who prefer uniformity and order. A minor road divides the site into two sections, both with touring pitches. The 100 irregularly shaped pitches (75 for touring) are in terraced clearings and vary in size from small to very large. Some are grassy but most are stony and slope (rock pegs essential). All have electricity (10A) but water points are rare. Access to some pitches is not easy making it unsuitable for large units.

If you are looking for somewhere different off the beaten track where time can pass you by, or happen to be passing through on the N6 from Albertville to Modane and the Fréjus tunnel to Italy, this could be a good stopping place. The Savoie region is probably better known for its winter activities, but the beauty of the landscape and variety of flowers and plants existing beneath the winter snow means it is well worth visiting in the summer.

Facilities

Two toilet blocks provide basic facilities and the supply of hot water may be inadequate at peak times. British and squat style toilets. Room with accessible facilities . Baby room. Kiosk with terrace for drinks, takeaway and basic food supplies. Bar (May-Sept). Restaurant offering local cuisine and takeaway (June-Aug). Heated swimming pool. Two play areas. TV room. Archery. A few organised activities including mountain walks and a children’s club. Free WiFi.
