Alan Rogers Review
Le Bois de Cornage is close to the Route Napoléon in the Romanche valley and less than a kilometre from the centre of the interesting town of Vizille. There are 128 pitches here, generally grassy and well shaded. Most are equipped with electricity (6 or 10A). There is a swimming pool on site, and it’s also possible to swim in the nearby Lac Laffrey, which is also popular for windsurfing, sailing and other water sports. The site bar/restaurant, Le Baroudeur, is the focal point here, and specializes in regional cuisine. Breakfasts are also available.
There are 16 fully equipped, south facing mobile home available to rent. Nearby, Vizille is probably best known for its majestic chateau, the grandest in the Dauphiné, and which now houses a major national museum dedicated to the French Revolution. Other popular excursions in the area include the cable car to the Meije glacier (3200 m), the monastery of Notre Dame de Salette and the fine city of Grenoble.
Two sanitary buildings. Shop. Bar/restaurant (June-August). Pizza takeaway (June-mid Sept.). Swimming pool (June-end Sept). Play area. Mobile homes to rent. WiFi free at snack bar terrace otherwise paid throughout.
