At the top of a wooded hillside in a very calm and tranquil setting you will find Camping Avelanede. It has 111 level pitches in total, half of which are occupied by mobile homes, either to rental or privately owned. Of the 80 touring pitches, 60 have 6A electricity and long leads may be required. It is possible that you may have a 500 m. walk to reach the sanitary facilities, however, if this is a problem, you should notify the owner Monsieur Jean Aicard, who will do his best to allocate you a nearer pitch. In order to maintain the peaceful atmosphere there is no organised entertainment, however there is a good sized swimming pool, a terraced restaurant and bar.

Whilst there is no formal shop here, most basics such as bread, milk, etc. can be purchased by asking at reception. Montmeyan and Regusse are both within 6 km. of the site with shops, small supermarkets and restaurants and are worth a visit. Lighting on the site is limited so a torch could prove useful. One of the main attractions in the area is the Gorges du Verdon, famous not only for its scenery but for the large range of extreme watersports which take place. Information on these and many other activities and places to visit can be obtained in reception.

Facilities

The two sanitary blocks have an adequate number of facilities for the site but are basic and dated in appearance. Accessible Wet room. Bread and milk etc. available through reception. Restaurant and bar. Swimming pool (heated from 15/5). Volleyball. Washing machine. WiFi round bar area.

Location

Leave A51 at exit 17 on to D952 towards Vinon-sur-Verdon. Turn on to D554 towards Ginasservis and La Verdière. At La Verdière follow D30 to Montmeyan. 2 km. after Montmeyan turn left on to D71 and follow signs to Artignosc-sur-Verdon. Site is on the right.
