Alan Rogers Review

La Vandelle is a member of the Flower group and is located at the heart of the Luberon national park. This is small site with just 39 pitches, and open for a short season (from 15/6). These are divided into ‘Nature’ (without electricity) or ‘Confort’ (with 6A electricity). Most pitches are well shaded. The nearest supermarket is 3 km. away but a number of basic provisions are available on site. There is a swimming pool and adjacent paddling pool. The Luberon is deservedly famous for its clear skies and wonderful sunshine record (more than 300 days of sun every year).

This is, of course, excellent walking and cycling country and the owners will be pleased to recommend routes. The nearest town is Manosque, birthplace of Jean Giono. This is an interesting town, dating back to 966. Lavender fields surround the site, and, in July, special lavender picking trips are organized. A little further afield, the Gorges de Verdon, the most spectacular in Europe, are an essential visit.

The old but well maintained sanitary block is being completely rebuilt for the 2013 season. Laundry facilities. Motorcaravan services. Swimming pool and paddling pool. WiFi (charged).
