Alan Rogers Review

This unusual site occupies a spectacular mountain location. The small reception building is opposite a solid rock face and many hundreds of feet below the site. The ascent to the upper part of the site is quite daunting, but staff will place your caravan for you if required, although motorcaravan drivers will have an exciting drive to the top, especially to the loftier pitches. Once there, the views are absolutely outstanding, both along the coast and inland to the Picos de Europa mountains. There are 434 pitches, all with 10/15A electricity. There is also a lower section in a shaded valley to which access is easier, if rather tight in places.

The upper area is arranged on numerous terraces, many of which require you to park your car by the roadside and climb the hill to your tent. The way down to the attractive beach is quite steep; from the lower area there is an easy walk to a smaller beach. The cliff-top restaurant and bar has commanding views over the ocean and beach. The site is very popular in high season so it does get crowded.

Four good, modern toilet blocks are well equipped with hot showers and open plan washbasins. They are kept very clean even at peak times. Baby bath. Full laundry facilities. Motorcaravan services. Restaurant and bar/snack bar with small shop (all season). Watersports. Games room. Fishing. Torches useful in some areas. Gas and charcoal barbecues only. WiFi in the restaurant.
