Alan Rogers Review
La Grand’Terre is a large campsite offering a comprehensive range of facilities for its visitors. It has 296 pitches (242 for tourers) which are set out in back-to-back rows with plenty of shade. One camping area is particularly shaded. A large modern building housing reception, and the bar/restaurant area is located at the front of the site with an attractive pool complex immediately to the rear. The large parking area at the entrance makes check-in and departure easy. Large outfits may find access to some of the pitches difficult (some narrow roads and overhanging branches) so arrive early in high season.
The site has a wide range of sporting facilities as well as direct river access for fishing (permit required) and river swimming. A full animation programme is organised for children in high season.
Four sanitary blocks offer reasonable provision but may be a long walk from some pitches. Water points are limited. Laundry room. Ironing service. Shop (from 25/6). Bar (from 25/6). Restaurant and snack service (from 15/6). Two outdoor heated swimming pools (15/4-15/9). Play area. Tennis. Pétanque. TV and games room. Open-air cinema. Internet access. Gas. Bicycle hire. Fishing. Charcoal barbecues are not permitted. Torches useful in some areas.
