Camping la Gaviota
Spain, Cataluña-Catalunya, Girona, Sant Pere Pescador
Alan Rogers Review
La Gaviota is a delightful, small, family run site at the end of a cul-de-sac with direct beach access. This ensures a peaceful situation with a choice of the pleasant L-shaped pool or the fine clean beach with slowly shelving access to the water. Everything here is clean and colourful and the Gil family are very keen that you enjoy your time here. There are 157 touring pitches on flat ground with shade and 8A electricity supply. A lush green feel is given to the site by many palms and other semi-tropical trees and shrubs.
The restaurant and bar are very pleasant indeed and have a distinct Spanish flavour. The cuisine is reasonably priced, perfectly prepared and served by friendly staff. All facilities are at the reception end of this rectangular site with extra washing up areas at the far end. The area is particularly well known for wind- and kite-surfing, and lessons and equipment to rent are available nearby. All facilities are open from March to October (swimming pool May to October) and a children’s club operates in high season. English and Dutch are spoken.
One clean, smart toilet block is near reception, with British style WCs and excellent facilities. Superb facilities for disabled visitors. Two great family rooms plus two baby rooms. Washing machine. Gas supplies. Supermarket (fresh bread), pleasant bar, terrace and delightful restaurant (all Mar-Oct). Swimming pool (May-Oct). New playground. Games room. Organised activities for adults and children. Beach sports, kayaking, kite- and windsurfing. Torches useful. ATM. WiFi over site (charged).
LocationFrom the AP7/E15 take exit 3 onto the N11 north towards Figueres and then the C260 towards Roses. At Castelló d’Empúries take the GIV 6216 and continue to Sant Pere Pescador. Site is well signed in the town. Link to campsite location map on google
