Alan Rogers Review
Located on the isle of Elba, la Foce was opened in 1954 by the Frassinetti family. The beautiful sandy beach, which can be seen from the main gate, is just 10 m. away across a narrow road. The site has 100 fairly compact touring pitches with 4A electricity and in the shade of pine and eucalyptus trees. Some require interesting manoeuvring to gain access. A separate bar and restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea are just outside the entrance. There is a range of accommodation to rent, including bungalows and mini apartments. The family take great pride in their campsite which is close to many facilities.
Guests may use the tennis and football facilities of the adjacent hotel. There are diving centres, windsurfing and sailing schools, boat, dinghy, car, motorbike and bicycle hire nearby. In the past, Marina di Campo was a small fishing village, but it is now the main tourist town on the island thanks to its long, sandy beach.
The single toilet block has showers and washbasins with hot water, hairdryers and a mixture of British and Turkish style toilets. Facilities for children and disabled visitors. Washing machines, dryers and ironing board. Well stocked mini-market/bazaar. Free WiFi over site. Electric barbecues are not permitted (if gas, must be before 22.30). Accommodation for hire.

From the ferry in Portoferraio, follow signs for Procchio, then for Marina di Campo. After Procchio, at junction for airport, turn left and follow signs for La Foce-Marina di Campo. After 1 km. at roundabout follow signs for site. After 800 m. at end of pine wood next to beach, turn right and site is at end of cul-de-sac road.
