Alan Rogers Review
La Ferté Gaucher is an attractive town in the valley of the Grand Morin, a tributary of the Marne. The site extends over four hectares of parkland. There are 199 grassy pitches with 149 available for touring, all of a good size and with electrical connections. The river runs through the site but is well fenced. The bar/restaurant has an imaginative menu with barbecues arranged in fine weather. Occasional evening entertainment is organised during the peak season. Shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
The beautiful medieval city of Provins is an easy drive to the south. In contrast, Disneyland (tickets can be bought on site) and Europe’s largest shopping centre at Marne-la-Vallée are about 55 km. west.
Two very traditional sanitary blocks provide basic facilities including pushbutton showers, some washbasins in cubicles and a mix of British and Turkish style WCs. Facilities for disabled visitors. Motorcaravan services. Good little bar/restaurant with takeaway (all season). Fishing. Play area. Occasional entertainment and activities. Mobile homes to rent.

La Ferté Gaucher is 80 km. due east of Paris. From A4 autoroute, leave at exit 16 (Crécy-la-Chapelle). Take D934 southeast through Coulommiers to la Ferté Gaucher. In town centre look for signs for Camping Municipal or Ensemble Sportif. Site is on D14 towards St Martin-des-Champs.
