Alan Rogers Review
This campsite is now permanently closed.
The Berner Oberland is one of the most scenic and well known areas of Switzerland, with Interlaken probably the best known summer resort. Situated in the village of Matten, Jungfraublick is a delightful, medium sized site with splendid views up the Lauterbrunnen valley to the Jungfrau mountain. The 90 touring pitches (60-90 sq.m) with 6A electricity connections are in regular rows on level, well tended grass. Ten pitches now have full services and around the edge of the main touring area there are 12 hardstandings for motorhomes. A number of fruit trees adorn but do not offer much shade. The 25 static caravans are to one side of the tourist area and do not intrude. There is some traffic noise from the main road.
This is a very pleasant, quiet, tidy site with a friendly, English speaking owner who is pleased to advise on the attractions of the region. The pink glow reflected from the sunset is a sight to behold when weather conditions allow, as is the sight of the snowcapped Jungfrau at dawn. Jungfraublick offers a contrast to the larger, more commercial sites on the other side of Interlaken. Free local travel with visitor pass.
Take the exit Nr. 25 from the N8 motorway, turn towards Interlaken. Site is within 500 m. on left.
