Luzern is a traditional holiday resort of the British, and this site has many British visitors. It lies near the shore of Lake Luzern, just 1 mile outside the town itself. This good but expensive site (£42 in low season per night) is divided into separate sections for caravans, motorhomes and tents; the first two have hardstandings which, in effect, provide rather formal and small individual pitches with shade in parts. There are 150 marked touring pitches all with 16A electricity connections. Quiet in the early season, from late June to late August it can become full and feel rather crowded, especially in the tent section. Good English is spoken.

Next to the site (but not associated with it, so you have to pay for entrance) is the Lido proper, which has a large sandy beach, bathing in the lake and sports fields. The town of Luzern, which you can reach by bus or ferry, has excellent shopping and sightseeing.

Facilities

The heated sanitary facilities are in three sections, two close to reception, and all fully equipped. A large, fully equipped modern block includes a restroom and cooking area with gas rings (free). Some washbasins in cabins. Free hot water for showers and sinks. Facilities for disabled visitors. The third block is the other side of the site with good facilities. Motorhome services. Shop. Bar. Restaurant. Takeaway. Community room. Play area. Bicycle hire. Internet access and WiFi (charged). Organised excursions.

Location

Follow camping signs out of Luzern and a large sign to Lido will be seen on the right just outside town. Just past the casino and on the eastern edge of town.
