Alan Rogers Review
Haide is attractively situated beside the River Neckar, just west of the ancient university city and its famous castle. There is direct access to the river from the site, so young children would need to be supervised. It is safe from flooding, but experiences some noise from the railway and road on the opposite bank, although it was not intrusive when we stayed. The site has 217 pitches, mainly without shade, with 160 for touring units. They are not marked out but there is plenty of space and there are 80 electricity connections (6/8A). The whole site is well maintained and is a good base from which to explore Heidelberg or the motor racing track at Hockenheim.
Two satisfactory sanitary buildings include showers on payment. washing machines and dryers, dishwashing sinks and facilities for disabled visitors. Motorcaravan services. Basic groceries and fresh bread. Bicycle hire. Small play area for young children. WiFi (charged).

From the A5 take exit for Kreuz Heidelberg, then the B37 towards the city. Cross the bridge and turn right along the river bank towards Neckasteinach. The site is 4 km. west of Neckarsteinach, opposite Neckargemund.
