Alan Rogers Review
Camping Gythion Bay is in the Peloponnese, three kilometres west of Gythion town on the road to Areopolis. It has 71 unmarked pitches set amongst orange, fig, olive and pine trees, all with 16A electricity. Some trees limit access but the owner is dealing with this to improve the site. Indeed he has also been busy refurbishing the toilets, showers and other facilities. With a good beach alongside the site, there are good opportunities for windsurfing and storage for boards is available. This is a good starting point for excursions to the Caves of Diros and for wider exploration of Lakonia and especially Inner and Outer Mani and Sparta.
Four toilet blocks (totally renovated) include British and Turkish style WCs plus facilities for disabled visitors. Laundry with washing machines. Motorhome services. Small shop (1/6-15/9) including gas. Bar, restaurant and takeaway (1/6-30/9). Outdoor swimming pool. Play area. Fishing, windsurfing and limited boat launching. Small beach. Free WiFi over part of site.
Site is 4 km. south of the fishing port of Gythion on the road to Aeropoli. It is between two petrol stations on the left and has a wide entrance.Link to campsite location map on google
