Camping Forteca was formerly a sand excavation-site, in fact the current lake was created as a result of excavation process. The site was planted with birch and pine trees to ensure that it integrated into the surrounding nature. It is located in a rural area, but in comfortable distance of the medium-sized town of Dzierżoniów for all your daily needs. From the site there is a good view of the Owl Mountains and the Slęża mountain. About twenty minutes in the car and you are in the woods of the hills of the Owl Mountains. This mountain range is part of the Giant Mountains on the border with the Czech Republic. Twenty minutes west of the site and you are in the nature reserve ‘Massief Ślęża’ that can be recognized by the lonely mountain surrounded by plains. In this rare and beautiful setting, the site offers a wide variety of spacious, beautifully situated touring pitches sheltered by birch and willow trees. The pitches are arranged so that you are able to enjoy the space and nature around you. Visitors can enjoy relatively traffic-free cycling through the surrounding countryside, based on routes provided in the information pack. The site has 70 touring pitches with electric hook-up point 16amp.
Anyone who loves barbecues will find this site perfect for them. There are permanent barbecue areas complete with tables and chairs. There is also a large communal barbecue. Anyone preferring to have their food made for them can head to the farm restaurant. Apart from a tasty lunch, they also serve a lovely breakfast or dinner here. Camping Forteca is close to the town of Uciechów, not far from the Krkonoše (south-west Poland). You will holiday in a lovely, partly hilly region with plenty of castles. The large swimming lake takes pride of place on the site. In addition, the pitches are located on little fields. Driving in Poland is almost identical in terms of rules as in other European countries, but It is mandatory to have your car lights on all day. Combinations above 3.5 tonnes pay tolls (VIATOLL) with a viaBOX box that you obtain at petrol stations at the border. Alcohol behind the wheel is severely punished. The rule is 0.0000%. |
Facilities
Central sanitary building with showers, toilets and washing and dishwashing facilities. The central toilet block was completely renovated in 2023, with new showers, toilets, large mirrors and a modern look. Restaurant, Snack bar, Takeaway food, Swimming lake, Football pitch, volleyball, Eventing entertainment, Children's play area, WIFI, Pets allowed.
Location
Driving from the Netherlands you can take the border crossing at Gorlitz. The big advantage of Gorlitz is that the highway is of very good quality. Once you leave the A4 motorway do not rely on Sat Nav as it will send you along small back roads via the Sleza Reserve. In kilometres this is shorter but not suitable for caravans or motorhomes. From the motorway, take the 'Kostomłoty' exit onto number 5 from Kostomłoty and follow it towards Jelenia Góra. After the town of 'Osiek' turn left towards Żarów and Świdnica. Once you arrive in Świdnica, follow the signs Dzierzoniów. In Dzierżoniów you follow the signs Wrocław and after 3km past the city border you arrive in Uciechów. The site has two access roads, you can turn off the ring road in Uciechów and thus arrive via the old road 384 at Forteca. Or you drive a little further and turn directly into Uciechów from the ring road and then you will see site in front of you. N.B.There are two Uciechów's in Poland. You should choose Uciechów – Dzierżoniowski. Otherwise, you will be 160km away northwest of Wrocław.
