Situated in the Valle de la Burundi, this pleasant and improved site has superb views of the 1,300 m. high San-Donator Mountains. The approach is via a road lined by huge 300-year-old oak trees, which are a feature of the site. Reception is housed in the main building beside the pool with a restaurant above (access also by lift). There are 108 pitches of average size on flat ground (50 for touring units) with 6A electricity to all and water to 25. The site is well placed for fascinating walks in unspoilt countryside and is close to three recognised nature walks.

The site gets very crowded during the Fiestas de San Fermín (bull running) in Pamplona, early in July. It is essential to make a reservation if you wish to stay. A visit to Pamplona is recommended. Parking is difficult – try to the west of the bullring, then wander down to Plaza de Toros (renamed Plaza Hemingway), to savour the atmosphere. It is common to use dual naming of places and roads (one in the Spanish language, the other in Basque and it can be confusing) – ask for advice if in doubt.


Toilet facilities are good and include a baby bath and facilities for disabled visitors. Laundry. Motorcaravan services. Gas supplies. Essential supplies kept in high season. Bar (1/4-30/9). Restaurant and takeaway (1/4-15/9). Swimming and paddling pools (1/6-15/9) also open to the public and can get crowded. Bicycle hire. Minigolf. Play area. Entertainment for children in high season. Tennis and squash courts. No charcoal barbecues. WiFi throughout (charged).

Etxarri-Aranatz is 40 km. northwest of Pamplona. From A8 (San Sebastián-Bilbao) take A15 towards Pamplona, then 20 km. northwest of Pamplona, take A10 west towards Vitoria/Gasteix. At km. 19 take NA120 to and through town (site signed). Cross railway and turn left to site at end of road.
