Camping El Cid
Spain, Comunidad Valenciana, Castellón, Peñiscola
Alan Rogers Review
Camping El Cid is a welcoming family campsite located just North of Peniscola on the Costa del Azahar. A recent change of owners has brought some much-needed renovations to some of the facilities, including the sanitary facilities and further improvements are promised. Delicious woodfired pizza is available in the bar/restaurant. The pool is immaculately kept, with a slide in the children's pool. Entertainments are arranged in the high season including various parties. The Valencian paella party should not be missed.
In addition to the touring pitches, the site offers a number of accommodation options, including traditional wooden bungalows and two vintage/retro caravans.
The site is ideally located between the sea and the Sierra de Irta natural park. The nearby fortified town of Peñiscola was one of the locations used for the 1960's Anthony Mann film, El Cid (hence the campsite name!) The town is also home to a comedy film festival which usually takes place in early June.
Outdoor pool, soccer field, petanque field, recreational games, bar-restaurant (buffet service). Open all year. Laundry facilities (fee). Bicycle Hire on site. 2x swimming pools. Motorhome service point. Supermarket (small). Entertainment ( High season only)
Located to the North of Peniscola, the campsite can be reached via the CV-141. After passing Meubles Pensicola, at the roundabout, the campsite is signposted to the right.Link to campsite location map on google
