Alan Rogers Review
Camping du Menhir can be found on the Rhuys Peninsula with good access to the beaches of the Morbihan gulf. The nearest beach (around 1 km. away) is a broad expanse of sand, which shelves gently into the sea. Pitches are grassy and well shaded, with most offering electrical connections (6/10A). On-site amenities include an impressive aqua park, with three large water slides and an attractive children’s pool. There is a friendly bar and a good restaurant with takeaway food. Rental accommodation includes a variety of well appointed mobile homes.
Watersports are very popular on the gulf, and the Boat Club Rohu (1 km) offers sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. For the less energetic, there are some delightful cruises on offer around the gulf, some visiting the pretty islands at its centre. This part of Morbihan has been occupied since Neolithic times and is home to many prehistoric standing stones, hence the site’s name. Some particularly impressive examples can be found close to Sarzeau, to the north.
