Alan Rogers Review
Du Lac is a traditional, urban lakeside site just 3 km. north of the very pretty town of Foix. There is road and rail noise (the site is alongside the old N20). There is space to manoeuvre at the entrance. The site is informally divided into four areas, one for mobile homes. The other areas are generally flat or slightly sloping with some shade under mature trees. There are 135 pitches, most with electricity (8-13A). Access to the lake is through a gate which is locked at night and the fence is secure. Children will need supervision in this area.
The lake is owned by a separate company but campers have free use of the attractive area. Here you will find canoeing and pedaloes, along with fishing, or just picnics and barbecues with a small bar operating. The lake is not for swimming as there is a fair amount of forbidding green weed but there is a clear area for canoes. Groups of young people and backpackers are accepted. The site is good for visiting Foix and exploring the local area.
Adequate but cramped toilet blocks of varying ages (one recently updated), may be under pressure at busy times. Facilities for disabled campers and baby room. Washing machine. Reception sells basic goods. Snack bar, bar/drinks stall close to pool (1/6-30/9). Small swimming pool, separate paddling pool. Play areas. Watersports. Fishing. Canoe instruction (hire charges apply). TV room, electronic games. Tennis. Boules. Some organised activities in high season. Torches are necessary.

From the north leave the N20 at exit 10 and take the old road towards the town. Site is well signed on the left, 3 km. north of the town centre (avoid new bypass and tunnel).
