In the heart of the Péregordine forest with views across the Jemaye lake, nature lovers looking for a peaceful, unspoilt, forest location will enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the Camping du Lac. Anglers and canoeists have the opportunity to practice their sport, whilst those preferring to walk or cycle have the choice of several signposted routes from the site all around the lake. The new owner has created 33 grassy, level pitches all with water supply nearby and most with 10A electricity. Pitches are either in full sun or in the shade from the mature oak trees. Those positioned deeper in the forest may prove difficult for larger units, but the clear central area is easy to access even for the largest motorhome.
A short walk around the lake brings you to the main leisure centre with a lakeside beach, bars, restaurants, play areas and safe supervised bathing. Just 5 km. away, be sure to visit the Ferme Percot – a 19th-century farm open to the public and a big hit with children of all ages. In the nearby Abbaye d’Echourgnac, monks and nuns make their speciality cheese and welcome you to sample their produce. For those interested in Romanesque churches, the region has its own signposted circuit including over thirty churches, some of which offer light and sound shows.
