Lac de Lislebonne can be found on the eastern edge of the vast Landes forest, in the Lot et Garonne département. This small site has just 40 touring pitches and 40 attractive wooden chalets (available for rent). The touring pitches are of a good size and most have electricity (10A Europlug). They are well spaced out over the 18-hectare site. The lake is a pleasant spot to cool off and has a sandy beach. Various activities are organised in and around the lake, including water polo, canoeing and beach volleyball. Bicycle hire is available on site and there are over 250 km. of marked cycle tracks in the area.
There is a lively sports programme including archery, hockey and badminton. The surrounding Pays d’Albret is well worth exploration and the site owners will be pleased to recommend excursions – possibly to the mediaeval Château du Moulin des Tours at Barbaste or into the Landes forest. The area is the home of Armagnac and the floc de Gascogne wine production. Several châteaux offer tastings and tours. The more lively may like a trip to the large amusement park of Walibi with its white-knuckle rides and log flumes.
