Alan Rogers Review

Camping du Lac de Bournazel can be found at the heart of the Corrèze, and close to the fine medieval town of Collonges-la-Rouge. There are 100 touring pitches here (80-110 sq m) and these are of a good size and well shaded. There are also 14 wooden chalets and caravans available to rent. The site overlooks the Lac de Bournazel (32 hectares) and has its own sandy beach which shelves gradually into the lake. There is a lifeguard service in peak season. A number of activities are possible around the lake, including rowing and canoeing. Fishing is also possible (chargeable).

Collonges-la-Rouge is one of the most visited places in the Limousin, and is also classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It was founded in the 8th century and became an important staging post for pilgrims heading to Compostelle. The town is built entirely of red sandstone, hence its name! Seilhac is another fine town, overlooked by its beautiful château (privately owned).
