Two brothers, a wine producer and a hotelier opened Domaine de Massereau in August 2006. It is set within a 50-hectare vineyard dating back to 1804, and the idea was to promote their wine, so tours are arranged, and they now produce their own olive oil as well.

There are 202 pitches, 120 available for touring units, all with electricity (86 with 16A electricity, water and drainage). Pitch sizes range from 90-300 sq.m., and some are equipped with a premium option, including a fridge, a plancha, a wooden storage box, deckchairs, a picnic table and unlimited wifi access. The area is lightly wooded, and most pitches are hedged with flowering shrubs. The other pitches are used for chalets, cottages, cabins and mobile homes to rent.

Amenities include an attractive pool area with water slides, heated indoor pool, new balnéotherapy pool and spa, a trim trail, mountain bike path and large grass play area including a trampoline. New in 2021 is Les Prés du Roi premium district, a quieter natural setting which has 300m2 pitches and a heated/air conditioned sanitary block. The camping area has direct access to the Voie Verte cycle route, giving you access to the pretty riverside town of Sommières, a 2km ride away - its historic centre, full of narrow streets lined with traditional shops is worth a visit. Nearby is the Roc de Massereau adventure park with 50 zip lines, canoeing and padlde boarding. This is a high quality site which is extremely good value for money, particularly in the low season.

Location

From the south on A9 take exit 27 and D12 towards Sommières. Site is 5 km. on right. From the north, there is a width and weight restriction in Sommières. To avoid this remain on N110, then take N2110 into Sommières, crossing the river over a narrow bridge controlled by traffic lights, and turn right onto the D12. Site is on left in 1 km.
