Situated just east of the Nantes ring road, Camping du Chêne would make an ideal night halt. However, it would be a pity to push on as a very pleasant few days could be spent here. With the Loire river to the north and the Loire valley wine route to the south, there is no shortage of places to visit.
The owners, Magali and Bruno, are keen to attract more British and Dutch visitors and are working hard to make improvements to their site. There are about 100 level, grassy pitches, around 70 for touring and tents, 55 with 10A electricity. The remainder are used for the mobile homes (available all year) and four canvas bungalows.
Camping du Chêne is part of an immaculate public park, with a lake that some pitches overlook. There are many sports facilities within the park including fishing, sailing, pedalo hire and tennis courts.
At busy times there is a bar and snack bar, with outdoor seating overlooking the lake.
Facilities
Two toilet blocks are unheated with a mix of British and Turkish style toilets, pushbutton showers and some washbasins in cubicles. Accessible Bathroom. Laundry. Motorhome services. Covered swimming pool. Small playground for young children. Two weeks of activities for children in high season. WiFi (free).
Location
From Nantes ring road take exit 44 and follow signs for St Julien de Concelles. Ignore town centre sign and continue to roundabout at Champion supermarket. Take third exit and site is 25 m. on the left.
