Alan Rogers Review
Tucked away in the beautiful Drôme Provençale region, this quiet, rural site is situated high in the hills northeast of the Roman city of Vaison-la-Romaine and surrounded by vineyards. There are 75 level, stony pitches of average size, with 53 for touring (6A electricity, long leads necessary). They are separated by hedges and mature poplar trees giving varying amounts of shade. Some 15 of these are on an upper level, larger and more open, and separate from the rest of the site, with views of the surrounding hills. Rock pegs are advised. The attractive, L-shaped swimming pool has a toboggan and sunbathing area.
This site would make an ideal base for those who love serious hill-walking and biking. Yet it is also a good site for families with its adjacent playing field with adventure style activities for children. Visitors in June will be amazed by the variety of wild flowers and butterflies.
Two toilet blocks with all the necessary modern facilities include rooms for babies and campers with disabilities. Small shop. Bar/restaurant and takeaway (all July/Aug). Swimming pool (April-Sept). Games field. Simple programme of events and some excursions (July/Aug). Gas barbecues only. Internet link via a cable. Max. 1 dog.
LocationSite is northeast of Vaison la Romaine. Recommended access is via Buis-les-Baronnies. Just south of village turn northwest on D147 for 7 km. over the pass to Propiac. Turn right on D347 and climb to site in 2 km. At entry use turning area provided to take sharp left-hand bend down to site. Link to campsite location map on google
