Alan Rogers Review

Camping Diever is just outside the quiet, rural village of Diever and close to the Drents-Friese Wold nature reserve. A special attraction in Diever is the open-air theatre where they perform a Shakespearean play all summer. Camping Diever has 210 touring pitches, all with 10A electricity, and 11 camping pods arranged informally around the site between the trees and separated by natural greenery. Some of the ground is sandy with some grass areas off sand access roads. The village of Diever is an easy 15 minute walk.

Here you could visit one of the famous hunebeds (Neolithic stones) and the Museum of Coaches. This whole area is excellent for long walks and cycling tours. In high season, an entertainment team arranges activities and the site organises walks through the woods with a forester. Close by is the Duinenzathe theme park in Appelscha.

Three toilet blocks (one heated) provide toilets, washbasins (open style and in cabins) and preset hot showers with key for hot water. Private facilities on eight pitches. Family shower. Baby room. Laundry facilities. Fresh bread and basics from reception. Recreation hall with games machine and library. Playing field. Bicycle hire. Adventure play island (parents not allowed). No charcoal barbecues. Torch useful. WiFi (charged).
