Alan Rogers Review
This family run campsite is only two kilometres from the stunning, ancient hill village of Gordes. The roads around the hillside campsite are stony and some slope significantly. The 99 terraced pitches (rock pegs essential) are placed naturally amongst a variety of ancient trees (mainly olives and oaks) and are irregular in shape and size. All 40 touring pitches have access to 6/10A electricity, although some may need long leads and a few leads may cross the roads. There are plenty of water taps and some pitches have their own tap and drain. Access to some pitches is not easy and this site is not recommended for large or underpowered outfits. This site is ideal for lovers of the great outdoors.
The views from the campsite over the valley, with its vineyards, lavender fields and olive trees and over the Luberon mountains (the real Provence) are fantastic. Also close by are many other equally magnificent villages.
Two toilet blocks have all the usual amenities, all of a high standard and clean. Facilities are provided for disabled campers but the hilly terrain and uneven roads are challenging for anyone with mobility problems. Motorcaravan services. Bar. Restaurant with simple menu and takeaway. Bread available but no shop. Swimming pool (1/5-24/9). Play room. Simple playground. Volleyball, boules, , minigolf, mini football pitch. Activities for all in high season. Evening soirées (finishing around 23.00) but no discos. Bicycle hire. Card operated security barrier. Communal barbecues only. One dog per pitch (not accepted July/Aug).
