Alan Rogers Review
Situated just outside the extremely attractive village of Saint Martin d’Ardèche, this site is on the north bank of the river, right at the end of the gorge. From here one can explore this unique river and indeed the attractive, small villages on the banks. With a total of 145 pitches (119 for touring units), nearly every pitch has some shade, which is helpful in this region of hot summers. The pitches are of average size on grass, all with 5A electricity (French plugs) and eight with full services. This family run site is associated with Camping La Roubine at Vallon-Pont-d’Arc.
Although the village is a ten minute walk, there is a surprisingly large and well stocked shop on the site. The site does cater for children – there is an underground games room, pony rides and games, and activities are organised. The modern swimming pool has a section for young children. Teenagers are asked to enjoy themselves at a disco in the village, not on the site! As ever, boules are played regularly. There is a barrier at night.
The sanitary blocks are modern and very clean with washbasins in cabins. Facilities for disabled visitors. Laundry room. Good shop. Bar, restaurant and takeaway. Swimming pool (lifeguard July/Aug) and large sunbathing area. Jacuzzi. Organised activities. Games room. Pony rides. Boules. Barbecues are not permitted.
