Alan Rogers Review
Camping De Reeënwissel is a good quality site in a beautiful location, close to the extensive moors of Drenthe. It is an ideal starting point for long walks and cycling tours. The site has some 140 touring pitches, all with 10A electricity, TV and optional WiFi. Comfort pitches also have water and drainage. Pitching is on large, grassy fields, some with shade at the back from mature trees. A newer field is still fairly open and here pitches are separated by young trees. A restaurant is in the centre of the site with an outdoor terrace and a toilet block for tourers.
To the front of the site are stables, and you can bring your own horse. In high season, many activities for both children and adults are organised and there is an active entertainment programme. De Reeënwissel is on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold nature park, which makes it ideal for many varied excursions. Close to the site are the former concentration camp of Westerbork, the Zoo in Emmen and the famous open-air games in Diever. For children there is a public outdoor pool only 100 m. down the road.
Three modern, heated toilet blocks for tourers include toilets, washbasins in cabins, and preset hot showers (hot water with SEP-Key). Baby room. Facilities for disabled visitors. Children’s toilet. Laundry with washing machine and dryer. No shop but bread to order. Restaurant with games and TV, snack bar and bar. Stables. Indoor play attic and playground. Football field.
