Alan Rogers Review

De Papaver is located in a large nature reserve near the village of Sellingen, north of the city of Emmen. It is an oasis of calm and tranquillity and is an ideal base for a cycling or walking holiday. There are 130 good sized touring pitches, most of which have 4/6A electrical connections. De Papaver is situated on a peninsula and is surrounded by a 50-hectare lake. There are a number of sandy beaches around the lake and these are good for swimming, canoeing and windsurfing. During school holidays, a large number of activities are organised for children, including campfires, building rafts, tree climbing and canoeing.

There is a keen environmental approach to the management of this site. Lighting and water usage, for example, are reduced and only environmentally friendly cleaning products are used. Parking is not allowed on pitches and the site is traffic free. Loud music is forbidden and after 10 pm. silence is strictly observed. A special tent field for nature campers is available at the far end of the site.
