Alan Rogers Review
The village of Plaisance is in the Gascogne region of the Gers, and the small and friendly Camping de l’Arros is just on the edge of the village, alongside the river. The site is well shaded and has 82 pitches, with 50 available for touring units, all with 6A electricity. The large pitches are level, grassy and well separated by hedges and mature trees that provide good shade. Traffic noise is noticeable. There is a large municipal swimming pool and a minigolf close to the site.
Children are well catered for with a play area and organised activities every morning in July and August. There is an excellent 18-hole minigolf course right next door. Adults can relax in the comfortable bar area where once a week in July and August there is a themed evening meal available with local specialities, or they can enjoy a game of boules. Canoeing is available, though access into the river is steep.
Two sanitary blocks with WCs, hot showers and washbasins in cubicles. Laundry facilities. Shop in high season. Bar, restaurant and takeaway (June-Aug). WiFi (charged). Play area. Children’s club (July/Aug). Canoeing. Communal evening meal.
