Alan Rogers Review
De La Vallée is a modern campsite in a rural location, in the area known as the Terre des Deux Caps (land of the two headlands). The ground is slightly sloping so levelling blocks may be necessary, but the 101 pitches are mostly individual and hedged, and all have 6A electricity hook-ups. Most have lovely views of the valley and surrounding countryside. Reception shares space with the attractive bar/café that fronts the campsite and serves a good selection of meals and snacks. The surrounding area has several magnificent beaches, 400 hectares of conservation area, and is a crossroads for more than 300 species of migrating birds.
The site is also within walking distance of Hervelinghen village centre, and within a short drive of both Calais and Boulogne and their shopping opportunities and ferry ports.
A building with up-to-date facilities includes washbasins in cubicles, preset hot showers (on payment – tokens from reception), laundry with washing machine and dryer (key from reception). Excellent unit with three separate rooms for disabled visitors, and dishwashing and laundry sinks set at low level also. A covered area adjacent to this building houses the bar/café.
