Alan Rogers Review
Following a devastating flood in December 2003 during which the site was completely submerged by the river, Camping de la Plage has redesigned its pitch layout. The site has 130 shady pitches (118 for tourers), which are of a good size and easily accessed from wide internal roads. They are equipped with electricity (10A Europlug). There is a swimming pool and a paddling pool, and being located at a scenic point along the river with a ruined bridge and beach area, fishing, river swimming and canoeing are all possible.
There are a number of restaurants located on the river front within a short walk. In high season, the site organises a children’s activity programme and there is a limited play area and sporting facilities. There is a bar and hot and cold snack service on site and fresh bread is available. Sanitary facilities are clean but somewhat dated. Some long connection leads may be required. Some English is spoken.
Two dated but clean sanitary blocks. Laundry room. Bar and snack bar. Small shop area with fresh bread and some essentials. Grass sports area. Minigolf. Play area. WiFi (charged). Animation programme (July/Aug). Communal barbecue area (barbecues not allowed on pitches).
