This site is set on the banks of the beautiful Dordogne river just a few hundred metres outside the typical Périgord Noir village of Trémolat, about halfway between Bergerac and Sarlat. Although the site’s emphasis is on peace and tranquillity, there is no shortage of activities available for the more active. Entertainment programmes for children and adults feature during high season. Touring units have a choice of 65 shaded or open pitches alongside the river (63 have 10A electricity, long leads required). There are 18 fully equipped mobile homes for rent. Amenities on the site include a swimming pool and a bar/restaurant, the Pyramid.
The pleasant pitches and riverside location may be all that you require, but the Périgord countryside is dotted with châteaux and deep, cool caves with dramatic stalactites (ideal for hot days!). The village of Trémolat has several inviting cafés, restaurants and bars. A good market takes place every Tuesday. Sarlat and Bergerac offer a wider choice of shopping, together with a range of museums and historic half-timbered houses. The banks of the Dordogne are a haven for wildlife. Kingfishers are frequently spotted, indicating the abundance of fish in the clear waters.
