Alan Rogers Review

Kempenheuvel is located around 2 km. from the bustling Limburg town of Bree (with an excellent Friday morning market). This is a friendly, family site with a heated outdoor swimming pool and a children’s pool. It is a popular choice with anglers, thanks to a large well stocked carp pond. Other amenities include a tennis court and a boules pitch. Cycling is popular and Kempenheuvel is linked to the Limburg cycling route network. Pitches are of a good size and are supplied with 6A electricity. Plenty of activities are on offer in peak season, including darts tournaments and line dancing.

Bree has a good range of facilities including a large indoor pool and an interesting motor museum. A little further afield, in Erperheide, there is an excellent sub-tropical pool complex (5 km). Hasselt, the capital of the province of Limburg merits a visit. The city centre is mainly car free and has a number of significant buildings, notably the 11th-century Saint Quentin’s cathedral, and the bustling Grote Markt.

Two toilet blocks, both with good, clean facilities including free, preset showers and facilities for babies. The older one has facilities for disabled visitors, the new prefabricated unit is on the touring field. Bar/restaurant. Takeaway. Outdoor heated swimming pool and paddling pool (May-Sept). Tennis. Play area. Fishing lake. Activity and entertainment programme. WiFi over site (charged). Mobile homes to rent.
