Alan Rogers Review
A compact, family run site located in the area known as The Green Heart of the Netherlands. You should expect a heart warming welcome from the enthusiastic owner at de Grienduil, which has a total of 22 touring pitches ranging in size from 100 to 120 sq. metres and with computer controlled current (6-16A) to the electricity hook-ups. Your unit will be placed on site by the owner, as cars are left outside the campsite. There is a choice of rental accommodation, including a luxury Romany-style caravan. Be sure to arrive before Friday to take advantage of the ‘all you can eat’ pizza experience, where you roll your own dough base! This is a perfect place to experience the green agricultural heart of the Netherlands.
A local farm provides a good range of organic foods and drinks. As the site is somewhat off the beaten track, the owners arrange a shuttle that connects with public transport. Rotterdam can be reached from Dordrecht via the waterbus network and could form the basis of an exciting day out.
One central, heated sanitary block has unisex facilities, with open washbasins, coin-operated showers (€ 0.50) and hot water for dishwashing (€ 0.20). Motorcaravan services. Pizza oven and terrace. Takeaway. Ice-cream, drinks and essentials. Bread to order. Breakfast service (€ 5). Adventure-style playground. WiFi over site (free).
