Alan Rogers Review
Camping De Blauwe Lantaarn is near the Drents-Friese Wold nature reserve. It is a family site in the west part of Drenthe with 180 pitches, of which 50 are for tourers. Touring pitches are on two level, grassy fields, one to the front of the site taking 10-14 units, but which serves as the sports field in high season. The other touring area is nearer the back of the site. Here there are large pitches (200 sq.m) and there is some shade along the backs of the pitches. To the front of the site is a small open-air pool (8x5 m) with a paddling pool and small slide, and there is also a snack bar here.
The nature reserve adjoining the site offers numerous opportunities for walking, cycling and riding and you could visit Dwingeloo or Diever with its open-air theatre. De Blauwe Lantaarn is also close to the Aekingermeer Lake, where you can enjoy sandy beaches and a lake for swimming and boating.
Single, centrally located toilet block with toilets, washbasins (open style and in cabins) and preset hot showers (coin operated). Baby room. Laundry with washing machines and dryers. Basics from reception. Canteen with open-air terrace and snack bar (weekends and high season). Outdoor pool with paddling pool and small slide. Play field and playground with trampoline.
