Alan Rogers Review
Le Clos de Barbey can be found at Bauduen, just 800 m. from the shimmering waters of the vast Lac de Sainte Croix. The site covers 12 acres and has 135 large pitches. Most pitches are occupied by fully equipped mobile homes or chalets, available to rent. A number of touring pitches are pleasantly laid out in a leafy forest of pine and oak. There is a lively activity and entertainment programme, with such diverse activities as football, archery and volleyball on offer. The attractive swimming pool complex is a focal point of the site, and home to frequent aqua aerobic sessions.
The area is best known for the Gorges de Verdon, Europe’s largest canyon. The canyon can be explored on foot, by mountain bike or by canoe, and offers some superlative opportunities for enjoying dramatic, rugged scenery. For the more adventurous, rock climbing, rafting, bungee jumping and canyoning are also on offer. Bauduen is a delightful Provencal village, with the remains of a feudal castle to explore, as well as picturesque winding streets.
