Camping Capalbio is a simple coastal site with a wide, grey sand beach and will appeal to those keen on ‘back to nature’ experiences. The 175 pitches set in the dunes are charmingly private with tall hedges, 3A electricity, and many have artificial shade. Some are alongside the beach and very secluded. The low key restaurant and bar have a fair choice of food and drinks at reasonable prices. Do not expect too much by way of entertainment here but you will get peace by the bucketful.
A tiny beach bar serves cool drinks in high season. This part of southern Tuscany is sometimes overlooked, given the wealth of places of interest further north. However, the ancient village of Capalbio and the beautiful Lago di Burano are both well worth discovering. Dogs are welcome and free.
