Can Coromines is a converted farm behind which the owners (Sally is British and Marc is French) have created a delightful little campsite in an orchard-like setting. A track curves in a loop around the site with landscaped, grassy and level pitches on either side. The first 38 are small to medium with 10A electricity, and beyond that are 18 very large pitches with electricity and some with individual water taps. A variety of mature trees, some tall, others more recently planted, provide shade to many pitches. Reception and a pleasant bar/restaurant are housed in a modern, glass-fronted extension on the back of the farmhouse.
A trailing vine provides shade to the outside seating and close by is a children’s play area. To the side of the house is an unusual wedge-shaped pool with a paddling section. Beyond this is the modern, centrally situated toilet block. A small stream is channelled along a gully that runs beside a winding path down the centre of the site. Below the back of the last pitches is a pleasant grassy area where children can play or have fun on the zip-wire. The nearby historical town of Besalù has shops, bars and restaurants and some interesting old buildings.
